Acura Announces 2007 Year End Sales Results

For a second consecutive year Acura light trucks posted record year-end sales, eclipsing 2006 by 29.1 percent. December sales of 5,906 MDX luxury SUVs and 2,263 RDX turbocharged crossover SUVs represent a significant rise over November and generate year-end sales of 58,606 units (a 7.9 percent increase) for MDX and 23,356 units (a 154 percent increase) for RDX. Total Acura year-end sales reached 180,104 vehicles.
“The MDX and RDX remain segment favorites as record sales of Acura’s luxury SUVs continue for a second straight year,” said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of sales. “The MDX and RDX’s unique mix of technology, safety and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive are a perfect combination, especially as the snowy winter months approach.”
December 2007 sales for Acura automobiles were again led by the popular TL performance luxury sedan with 5,988 units sold (a 2.4 percent gain over December 2006 sales). Acura automobile sales ended the year strong with RL luxury performance sedan, TL performance luxury sedan and TSX sports sedan December 2007 sales significantly besting November 2007 sales.
For 2007, MDX sales narrowly bested TL sales (58,545 units), followed by TSX (33,037 units), RDX (23,356 units) and RL (6,262 units).
